Jean and Mike

My Grandma and me in 1983

Today my Grandma passed away. She was a special woman who lived her life with kindness and decency. I’ll miss her very much.

Plans for today

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

-Oil Change (not fun)-xmas tree (fun!)-exchange wedding gift (sort of fun?)-take macbook in for repairs (apple store fun, losing laptop for a few days not so much) the / and ‘ keys on my keyboard don’t work unless I press them REALLY hard. I’m sick of it, especially since my MacBook is my main machine now, so off it goes to Apple.

Haven’t posted in a while

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

So yes, I haven’t had a real post in quite a while! Let’s see if I can throw some quick updates out there:-If you haven’t seen it, Emilie and I have wedding pics up at http://www.mikeandemilie.com, the gallery software I’m using is decent but I’m hoping to try something a bit more dynamic. Let me know if you have any favorites.-Birthday! I turned 28! This year my birthday was 2 days before Thanksgiving, so my parents came up and stayed with us, which was fun. It’s nice having a a second bedroom that we can offer to guests. My birthday was very nice, we went to the Pearl Alley BIstro, which I had never been to before. That weekend I had some friends over, and we played Rock Band all night. Good times.-Video Games! Edgar has a post at his blog about the games he’s been playing, and I too have been playing way too many games. Currently I’m playing:

“Super Mario Galaxy”

Amazing gameplay. You know how in bad movie series they’ll have one in space (think Friday 13th, Leprechaun), well this is like Mario: In Space. Except that instead of sucking, its awesome! Really cool gameplay, they play with gravity really well, and watching Mario soar through the air is a beautiful sight.

“The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass” (Nintendo)

Taking the Zelda game and applying the stylus seems like a weird idea but Nintendo pulled it off. Not the hardest game, but I love the Windwaker look to it.

“The Orange Box” (Electronic Arts)

The Orange Box for XBOX 360: Portal is a mind blowing first person puzzle game. Yes you read that right, a puzzle game. I haven’t event attempted the other games.

“Rock Band Special Edition” (MTV Games)

Rock Band: Like Edgar, my guitar is screwed up so a new one is being shipped to me. However, this game is wicked cool. Getting 4 players together to blast out some jams is really fun.
